Massive Attack, who were founded in 1987, are considered pioneers of trip-hop. With their debut ‘Blue Lines’ from 1991, on which songs such as ‘Unfinished Sympathy’, ‘Safe from Harm’ and ‘Daydreaming’ were released, Massive Attack presented their unmistakable sound. Their music combines elements of hip-hop, dub, reggae, soul and electronic music with intense, politically charged lyrics. The British band has released four more studio albums to date - most recently ‘Heligoland’ in 2010. Following the departure of Andrew ‘Mushroom’ Vowles, Robert ‘3D’ Del Naja and Grantley ‘Daddy G’ Marshall joined the Massive Attack line-up.
